Usage and audit log

See how your workspace uses Evergreen, export it as CSV, and read the audit log of who changed what.

  • Owner · Admin
  • 5 minutes

Two pages under Workspace settings › Insights show what’s happening in the workspace. Usage is for how people use Evergreen, and the audit log is for who changed what.

Usage

Workspace settings › Usage is open to Owners, Admins, and anyone with the Usage delegation. It has five views:

View What it shows
Adoption How many people use Evergreen, what their sessions produced, and how it changes week to week.
Clients Whether people work in the web app, the terminal, or on mobile.
Spend What the workspace spent, by day, person, and model.
Review How many review rounds sessions went through.
Merge flow How pull requests move through to merge. You can narrow it to one repository.

Choose a window at the top: Last 24 hours, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, or Custom range, up to 366 days. Spend opens on the last 24 hours, and the other views open on the last 7 days. Usage counts days and weeks in the time zone you set under Workspace settings › General, which the page shows as Days in and the zone.

Export a view

Choose Export CSV on any view to download what’s on screen for the window you picked. A file holds up to 50,000 rows. Each export is itself recorded in the audit log.

Audit log

The audit log is open only to people you give the Audit log delegation. Admins don’t have it by role. The Owner holds it from their first sign-in, and anyone else needs a grant under Delegated access.

It records every change someone makes in the workspace, and what they do when they sign in or out. Examples are role changes, members removed, domain and feature changes, budget changes, ownership transfers, SCIM actions, changes group rules make, Admins stepping in to private sessions, and usage and audit exports. Reads that don’t change anything are hidden by default.

The table shows Time, Actor, Action, Category, Resource, and Outcome. You can filter by action, category, actor, role, feature, and dates, and select a row to see the raw event. The dates are days in the time zone you set under Workspace settings › General, which the page shows as Days in and the zone.

Evergreen keeps the log for 365 days. Export CSV downloads everything that matches your filters, up to 10,000 rows, and the export is recorded too.

Note

The log shows your workspace’s events only, and each export is limited to the filters you’ve set.
