General
Rename your workspace, set its time zone, check its plan, choose which session modes it allows, and offer ownership to another member.
Workspace settings › General shows the workspace’s name, plan and time zone, how many people it has, who owns it, the invitation switches, and the session modes it allows. A pending ownership offer shows at the top of every Workspace settings page.
Name and time zone
Owners and Admins can rename the workspace. Choose Rename next to the name, type the Workspace name (up to 120 characters), and choose Save. The workspace’s address, shown as its slug, never changes when you rename it.
The Time zone picker takes any standard time zone. Usage counts days and weeks in it. Billing always uses Pacific time, whatever you pick here.
Plan
The workspace is on a trial, Pro, or Enterprise. A trial shows the days it has left. The Owner can switch between Pro and Enterprise with Switch to Enterprise or Switch to Pro. Enterprise adds single sign-on, SCIM provisioning, required single sign-on on a domain, domain capture, and the workspace’s own storage key. See Single sign-on and SCIM.
A trial workspace has to add funds and move to Pro first. To switch back from Enterprise to Pro, turn off single sign-on, SCIM, required sign-on, domain capture, and the storage key first. Evergreen lists what’s still on when you try.
Session modes
Under Session modes, Owners and Admins choose whether the workspace’s sessions can run in two modes:
- Allow Auto lets sessions run in Auto, where a classifier checks each action.
- Allow Bypass lets sessions run in Bypass, where the agent runs without any checks.
Both are on until you turn them off, and each switch saves on its own. When a mode is off, nobody can pick it when they start a session, switch to it, or approve a plan into it. A session already in that mode keeps it until it switches.
Transfer ownership
A workspace has one Owner. To hand it to someone else, the Owner offers it, and nothing changes until that person accepts.
-
Make the offer
The Owner chooses Transfer ownership on General or on Members, picks the person under Who takes the seat, and can add a Reason. The reason is shown to them and kept in the audit log. Choose Propose transfer.
-
The other person accepts
They get an email. The email has no accept link, so they sign in to Evergreen, where a card says you ask them to take ownership of the workspace, and choose Accept or Decline.
-
The roles swap
When they accept, they become the Owner at once and you become an Admin. If a group rule covers you, you get that rule’s role instead. They also get the Billing and Audit log delegations, and you keep yours.
The person has to be an active member of the workspace. Only one offer can be open at a time. It lapses after seven days if nobody answers, and the card shows how long is left. The Owner, or whoever proposed it, can choose Cancel transfer while it’s open. An offer is Pending, Accepted, Declined, Canceled, or Expired.
Note
The Owner can’t leave the workspace without transferring ownership first.
The Owner can also download a copy of the workspace’s projects, sessions, and pull requests with Download a copy under Settings › Workspaces.
Other workspaces
When you’re allowed to make another workspace, Other workspaces at the bottom of General has Start another workspace. It gets its own people, repos, and billing, and this workspace stays as it is. If a verified domain’s settings don’t let you make one, the row says why.
