Members
Invite people to your workspace, change their roles, remove them, and decide whether every member can invite others.
Workspace settings › Members lists everyone in the workspace with their role, what they have access to, and when they were last active. A person’s status reads Active, Never signed in, Deactivated, or Departed.
Invite people
-
Open the invite dialog
Choose Invite people on Members, or in the account menu.
-
Add email addresses
Type or paste the addresses in Email addresses. Press Enter after each one, or paste a list.
-
Send the invites
Choose Send invite. Everyone you invite joins as a User, and you can change their role afterwards.
Each invitation is held for one email address. Evergreen delivers it in Slack if your workspace’s Slack knows the address, and by email if it doesn’t. You get a few seconds to undo an invitation before anything is sent.
Under Pending invitations you can Resend invite, once a day, or Withdraw invite. Copy invite link copies the address of the sign-in page. It doesn’t work for anyone you haven’t invited.
Note
Evergreen limits how many invitations a workspace sends in a day. Invitations over the limit wait and go out the next day. Invitations to your own verified domains don’t count toward it.
Who can be invited
On a Pro or Enterprise workspace you can turn on Only our verified domains under Workspace settings › General. Invitations then go only to people whose email is on one of your verified domains. Evergreen refuses disposable addresses and addresses on a domain that another workspace has locked, whichever way the switch is set.
Change a role
Select the role badge next to a person, pick the new role, and confirm. Roles covers who can change whose.
A role with a lock beside it comes from one of your identity provider’s group rules, and the line under it names the provider and the groups. Select the lock to see why. To change that role, change the person’s groups in your provider, or edit the rule.
Remove someone
Open the person’s menu and choose Remove from workspace. Evergreen asks you to confirm, because removing someone changes what happens to their work:
- Their running sessions stop.
- Their automations pause.
- Every integration and code host connection they made in this workspace is revoked.
- Their sessions, projects, and automations stay in the workspace, so an Admin can take them over.
- Their open pull requests stay open, but nothing merges or gets fixed on their behalf.
The person’s Evergreen account isn’t deleted, and they keep any other workspace they belong to.
Evergreen refuses in two cases. It won’t remove someone from the only workspace they have. It also won’t remove an account that a company created through single sign-on or SCIM, because that account follows your identity provider. Remove those people there instead. Only the Owner can remove an Admin, and nobody can remove the Owner.
Decide who can invite
Members can invite sits under Workspace settings › General › Invitations. It’s on by default, so anyone in the workspace can invite people. When you turn it off, only the Owner and Admins can.
